BASSWOOD SENIOR RESIDENCES

Region of Peel
In Progress

This 9-storey, 150,000 square foot aging-in-place residence will include 198 affordable rental suites for seniors as part of the Peel Community Housing Development Program. 44% of the suites are barrier-free while the others are designed with large rooms and washrooms to provide accessibility beyond code minimums. 100% of the common areas are barrier-free and the landscape features accessible amenities, including raised planter beds and support for service animals.

The high-performance net zero design includes a hybrid mass timber structure, a geothermal heating and cooling system, a prefabricated envelope system, and sustainable, low embodied carbon materials that provide long lifecycles and lowered carbon emissions. Provisions will be made for future rooftop solar panels.

Currently, this building will be the first tall mass timber residential project in Brampton and is scheduled to be completed in early 2028. There has been close collaboration between LCG Residential and the consultant team, including Kasian (architects), Entuitive (structural), and Quasar (mechanical and electrical).
